I first came across Amanda Leigh Cowley many moons ago when I read her book Soul Protector. The review for this book can be found by clicking here! It was hilarious because I compared her hero to one of mine (Alex O’Loughlin), and it was picked up by Hawaii 5O fans who posted it too. So when I found out that Amanda had brought out another book, I was really pleased and even more pleased when Amanda asked me if I’d like to read it.
When she said it was a romantic thriller, I wondered how that would work, but oh boy it works in every way it possibly could and I think would appeal to lots of different people who just enjoy a blooming good book!
I started it as soon as I got it and I’m so pleased that I did. I really do love Amanda’s writing. She paints pictures so well and creates her scenes so that you feel like you’ve been picked up and dropped into them yourself.
It starts with a really big impactful scene that drops you into the action right away and leaves you gripped, desperate for more! The character of Emily has really been through the mill and is going through a whole host of emotions that you empathise with whole heartedly.
So in my mind, Nate is Chris Hemsworth. Hope you approve of my choice of main man Amanda!
This is such a great book, a really entertaining read, totally compelling and full of twists and turns which I simply couldn’t put down.
Can’t wait to read more from this author, who I feel is a really talented storyteller.
About the book

“… I looked forward to going to bed each night just so I could get back to reading it. I now have a serious book hangover and am eagerly awaiting the next one.”
— Bestselling author, Shalini Boland
