Blog Tour – The Lies Within by Jane Isaac

I’m going blog tour crazy this week as I’m taking part in 3 which is the most in ages.  Because I’ve read Jane Isaac’s work before, when I picked up The Lies Within and started reading, I thought it would be yet another good police procedural but oh my word this book was brilliant!!

The more I got into it the more I was gripped and couldn’t wait to find out what the hell was going to happen and who were the goodies and who were the baddies!  I was totally convinced that I knew which way it was going yet how wrong I was! It swerved all over the place and I really didn’t know whether I was coming or going!

It was brilliantly written with so much tension that I felt like jumping up and shouting at the characters.  And the pace was perfect! I couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough to find out what was going to happen.  And the ending! Wow! That’s all I’m going to say.

I love a book which questions what you would do in a particular situation and this one sure did that all the way through!  I felt every single emotion of Grace and wanted to go round to her house and make her feel better!

It was an absolutely brilliant read, one of those that makes you shut out the world outside and think about nothing else for hours!

A thoroughly entertaining, superbly written psychological crime thriller.

About the book:

THE THIRD DI WILL JACKMAN CRIME THRILLER

Be under no illusions by her kind face and eloquent manner… This woman is guilty of murder.

Grace Daniels is distraught after her daughter’s body is found in a Leicestershire country lane. With her family falling apart and the investigation going nowhere, Grace’s only solace is the re-emergence of Faye, an old friend who seems to understand her loss.

DI Will Jackman delves into the case, until a family tragedy and a figure from his past threaten to derail him.

When the police discover another victim, the spotlight falls on Grace. Can Jackman find the killer, before she is convicted of a crime she didn’t commit?

A gripping thriller perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, S.J. Watson, B A Paris and Sophie Hannah.
